Empowering Youth,
Inspiring Change,
Building Communities.

A movement dedicated to unlocking potential, fostering leadership, and creating lasting impact across Tanzania's communities.

Our Origins

Our Story

Zanchangemakers was founded in 2021 by Nassor Mohammed and Abdulhamid Mzee, two passionate youth leaders driven by the vision of a more active, empowered, and community-oriented generation. Rooted in the belief that volunteerism is a powerful force for change, the initiative was created to connect youth with meaningful opportunities to lead and serve.

Under the capable leadership of Ahlam Ahmed, a dynamic young woman and the current Project Lead, Zanchangemakers proudly champions women in leadership, demonstrating its commitment to inclusivity, gender equity, and the empowerment of young women as catalysts for social transformation.

The Challenge We Address

The Problem

In Zanzibar and across many parts of Tanzania, youth face limited access to leadership development, practical job skills, and platforms to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Despite high potential, many young people remain under-engaged in civic life, with unemployment, lack of mentorship, and insufficient opportunities for personal growth hindering their ability to thrive. At the same time, communities suffer from a shortage of active citizen involvement in addressing local challenges.
